Bartender & Barback Job Descriptions
Best bar on the racing circuit…Siebkens Resort is looking for enthusiastic bartenders and barbacks. We are seeking friendly, outgoing individuals who want to work in lively, dynamic, and rewarding environment. Shift opportunities include both days and nights in a variety of settings including the casual Stop-Inn Tavern, the eclectic Cocktail Bar, service bar, and event satellite bars.
21 years old and over encouraged to apply
18-20 years old encouraged to learn bartending through a barbacking position
Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities for all positions:
- Treat all co-workers, staff, vendors, and guests with courtesy and respect. In other words, treat others as you would wish to be treated
- Ensure assigned work areas are tidy, clean, and safe
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Work well both independently and in a team setting
- Respond to resort guests’ needs in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate well with other departments of the resort
- Perform all bar opening and closing duties
- Check customer’s identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Be able to operate a point-of-sale system
- Physical ability to lift beer kegs, hold trays of bottles and glassware and stand during the shift
- Maintain a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Always maintain a professional appearance
-Positions are Seasonal (April through October 31st)
Specific Positions
Bartender: You will provide an excellent guest drinking experience. Good Bartenders will be able to create classic and house drinks exceeding guests’ needs and expectations.
- Interact with customers, take food and beverage orders, and serve drinks
- Serve food when working independently
- Consistently produce delicious and beautifully presented alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages that meet and exceed beverage preparation standards
Position Requirements
- Relevant training and license
- Experience is preferred but is not required
Pay ranges from $7.25-$10 an hour plus tips, with hours ranging from 32-50 per week
Barback: You will support our Bartenders and the rest of our staff. You will assist with bar opening and closing procedures and perform various behind-the-bar tasks, such as restocking the bar and preparing garnishes.
A good barback will help ensure that our guests receive excellent customer service and enjoy their time at our bars.
- Tidy up tables, counters and other bar areas
- Collect empty glasses and bottles
- Restock the bar with straws, coasters and napkins
- Prepare mixers, juices and cocktail garnishes
- Change out beer kegs and replace liquor bottles
- Remove trash and wipe down drink spills, spot sweep and mop
- Refill ice bins
- Clean rags throughout the shift
- Attend to restrooms
- Perform food runner role as needed
- Assist the Bartenders during rush hours (if of age to serve alcohol)
Pay $10 an hour plus tip-out from bartenders
