Lodging Job Descriptions: Front Desk Attendant, Housekeeper, Grounds & Maintenance Staff
Warm hospitality provided in a historic setting… Siebkens Resort is looking for Front Desk Attendants, Housekeepers, and Grounds & Maintenance staff to join our team. We are looking for people with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and an eye for detail.
Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities for all positions:
- Treat all co-workers, staff, vendors, and guests with courtesy and respect. In other words, treat others as you would wish to be treated
- Be on time
- Ensure assigned work areas are tidy, clean, and safe
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Work well both independently and in a team setting
- Respond to resort guests’ needs in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate well with other departments of the resort
- Attend to restrooms
- Always maintain a professional appearance
-Positions are Seasonal (April through October 31st)
Specific Positions
Front Desk Attendant: You will be the “face” of Siebkens Resort for all visitors and will be responsible for the first impression we make. A successful Front Desk Attendant will have a friendly and easy going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. You should be able to deal with complaints and give accurate information. A customer-oriented approach is essential. You will make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while on our premises.
- Keep front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary material (pens, forms, paper etc.)
- Greet and welcome guests
- Answer questions and address complaints
- Answer all incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages
- Receive letters, packages etc. and distribute them
- Prepare outgoing mail by drafting correspondence, securing parcels etc.
- Check, sort and forward emails
- Monitor office supplies and place orders when necessary
- Keep updated records and files
- Take up other duties as assigned
- Ensure assigned daily tasks are completed and recorded; present records to supervisor before shift completion
- Maintain Lobby and hotel foyer coffee stations
- Inspect guest rooms, public area, stairways, lounges, etc. to ensure space meets Resort’s quality and cleanliness standards
- Perform light housekeeping in public spaces
Position Requirements
- Familiarity with office machines (e.g. telephone, printer etc.)
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Ability to learn Property Management System (PC-based software)
- Strong communication and people skills
- Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Problem-solving skills
- Customer service orientation
Pay ranges from $15-$18 an hour, with hours ranging from 32-40 per week
Housekeeper: You will to attend to our lodging accomodations and public spaces with integrity and attention to detail. A successful Housekeeper will create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation.
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
- Ensure all rooms and public spaces are cared for and inspected according to standards
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any Siebkens Resort-related practices
Position Requirements
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance

- Working quickly without compromising quality
Pay ranges from $10-$19 an hour, with hours ranging from 32-40 per week
Grounds & Maintenance: You will perform landscaping and upkeep tasks such as mowing, beach raking, repairs and cleaning. You will be responsible for exterior grounds and applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional.
- Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.
- Perform minor fixes
- Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
- Report to Maintenance Manager for issues
- Set up and clean up indoor and outdoor events (small tents, outdoor bars, etc.)
Position Requirements
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions
Pay ranges from $10-$20 an hour, with hours ranging from 32-40 per week
