Front Desk Attendant Job Description
Warm hospitality provided in a historic setting… Siebkens Resort is looking for Front Desk Attendants to join our team. We are looking for people with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and an eye for detail.
Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Treat all co-workers, staff, vendors, and guests with courtesy and respect. In other words, treat others as you would wish to be treated
- Be on time
- Ensure assigned work areas are tidy, clean, and safe
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Work well both independently and in a team setting
- Respond to resort guests’ needs in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate well with other departments of the resort
- Attend to restrooms
- Always maintain a professional appearance
-Positions are Seasonal (April through October 31st)
Specific Position
Front Desk Attendant: You will be the “face” of Siebkens Resort for all visitors and will be responsible for the first impression we make. A successful Front Desk Attendant will have a friendly and easy going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. You should be able to deal with complaints and give accurate information. A customer-oriented approach is essential. You will make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while on our premises.
- Keep front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary material (pens, forms, paper etc.)
- Greet and welcome guests
- Answer questions and address complaints
- Answer all incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages
- Receive letters, packages etc. and distribute them
- Prepare outgoing mail by drafting correspondence, securing parcels etc.
- Check, sort and forward emails
- Monitor office supplies and place orders when necessary
- Keep updated records and files
- Take up other duties as assigned
- Ensure assigned daily tasks are completed and recorded; present records to supervisor before shift completion
- Maintain Lobby and hotel foyer coffee stations
- Inspect guest rooms, public area, stairways, lounges, etc. to ensure space meets Resort’s quality and cleanliness standards
- Perform light housekeeping in public spaces
Position Requirements
- Familiarity with office machines (e.g. telephone, printer etc.)
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Ability to learn Property Management System (PC-based software)
- Strong communication and people skills
- Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Problem-solving skills
- Customer service orientation
Pay ranges from $15-$18 an hour, with hours ranging from 24-40 per week
